Summer is always a blast. You have the chance to sleep in, spend all your time with your besties and put the textbooks aside for a few months. But, unfortunately, all good things must come to an end, and summer vacation is almost over.
But don’t worry – you still have a few weeks to enjoy your time off! Here are eight things you need to do before summer ends:
1. Eat some fair food
Sure, you’ve been working on keeping that beach body this season, but it’s time to give yourself a break! Buzzfeed suggested heading to your local fair and indulging in your favorite fried treat.
2. Be a tourist in your own town
It might seem silly, but you should take a local tour! You’ll probably learn something interesting about that historical spot you always labeled another boring landmark.
3. Head to the beach
Regardless of if you’ve been multiple times this summer or you’ve yet to make a trip, the beach deserves a visit before school starts. Grab your sunscreen, beach towel and closest friends and make the most of the sun and sand while you can!
4. Go glamping
Camping can be fun, but most people avoid it because it’s not the most comfortable getaway. Instead of roughing it, go glamourous camping! Peyton List told Seventeen Magazine glamping is simple – just upgrade to an air mattress and make sure there’s a restroom close to your campsite.
5. Take a hike
That wonderful weather isn’t going to stick around forever, and neither is your free time. Take advantage of the sunshine and go for a hike! It’s a great way to enjoy nature’s surroundings while getting your exercise in for the day.
6. Try a new summer sport
Summer is all about freedom and having a good time, so why not take a chance and try something new? Pick a fun water sport and give it a go, such as kayaking, waterskiing or even wakeboarding.
7. Have one last weekday sleepover
Your weekends are always free for sleepovers during the school year. But during the summer, you get to take advantage of every day during the week! Text all of your besties and plan one last weekday slumber party. Include all of the snacks, chick flicks and gossip sessions you guys can handle. Make it a point to schedule this event on a Monday – everyone’s last chance to enjoy the least favorite day of the week during the school year.
8. Swap clothes with your girls
Before you go out on that back-to-school shopping trip, grab some of your friends and have a clothing swap! Your bestie’s blouse that you’ve always loved? She’s planning on taking it to the thrift store. Exchange it with her for one of your least favorite shirts and voila! You’re both stylish and happy.
