It’s 6 a.m. and your BABY-G watch with an alarm goes off. What do you do? Do you hit the snooze button and fall into a restless sleep for a little longer, or do you get up and start the day?

Many hit that snooze button, but instead, why not take this time to get your workout taken care of?

Check out these seven perfectly good reasons why you should do your workout in the morning:

1. It will energize you for the day
You might think you’ll be more tired after working out, but according to Forbes, it’s just the opposite. Exercising gives you energy to come up with new ideas and focus, which will help you throughout your day.

2. You can have an athleisure pajama party
For some, waking up and having to get undressed sounds cold and daunting. So don’t get undressed. Wear your workout clothes to bed. Athleisure is meant to be lounged around in anyway, so when you sleep in your workout gear, not only will you wake up comfortable, but you’ll be ready to go.

3. You’ll be the early bird that gets the machine
Not everyone is a morning person, giving you that much more of a reason to be. Just look at it this way: Now you don’t have to fight for a machine during peak gym hours.

4. It will make you happy
Some people try to convince themselves that they’re grumpy first thing in the morning. But as you may know, exercising releases endorphins which are chemicals that improve your mood. Don’t worry if you aren’t a morning person now, you will be after a good workout.

5. You’ll have to shower, which will wake you up
Nothing better than a refreshing shower to wake you up, is there? The hot water will relieve soreness in your muscles, so you’ll be loose for the rest of the day, according to Pop Sugar magazine.

6. You’ll be up and ready to start the day with the No. 1 meal 
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and you’ll be ready for it after a good workout. Treat yourself to a cup of coffee and healthy breakfast that will fuel you up for the rest of the day.

7. You’ll start the day off on the right foot
Now it’s only 8 a.m. and you can already cross something off your to-do list. Doesn’t it feel good to have accomplished something so early? Now you get to enjoy the rest of the day without a workout hanging over your head. Catch a movie or grab some drinks with your friends – the day is yours!
