Spring 2017 Beauty Trends

With each season comes a set of brand new beauty trends. Sometimes it can be hard to keep up with the ever-changing list of “what’s in” during a given month. Models and celebrities will don the newest eyeshadow colors and hair looks, and you may see spreads in magazines boasting all the latest products you must get your hands on. Whether you like to rock your own personal style that sticks to no timelines, or are intrigued by the latest beauty crazes, it can be fun to check out what people are considering “in” at the moment.

Here are a few of the beauty trends for spring 2017:

Hello ’80s
While never before seen looks often arise, it’s also popular to bring back old styles and make them trendy again. This spring, the ’80s are all the rage. British Vogue suggested picking up the brightest colored pigments you can find and sweeping them over your lids. Add a vibrant blush to the high points of your cheeks to complete the bold, colorful look. To amp up the ’80s vibe even more, pull your hair into a side ponytail and sneak in some ruffles to your wardrobe along with your Casio BABY-G BGA230SC-4B  watch.

Watercolor eyeshadow
Jill Stuart, an American fashion designer, used a mixture of shimmery and pastel eyeshadows to create the effect of watercolor eyes. According to Glamour, she used lavender, chartreuse, aqua and gold shades to create her masterpiece. This eyeshadow look is fun and flirty, and definitely fits in with the spring color palette. If you aren’t sure about this intense eye look, try applying a pastel shade to your lower lash line and stick with gold shimmer on your lids. Adding a pop of color here and there will still be pretty.

Ombre lips
Ombre lips are a unique look for anyone interested in shaking up their usual routine. Since bright and opaque colors seem to be a hit this spring, this trend fits right in. Start by applying a darker lipstick shade to the outer corners of your lips and bringing it in further towards the middle. Leave the center of them bare though, because that’s where you apply a lighter shade and blend it into the darker one on the outer area. Choose any colors you desire – black and purple, orange and red – and see how fun this trend truly is!

Go natural
Despite all the daring trends this spring season, keeping your face natural is still considered trendy. No one can complain about clean, natural beauty always being a coveted favorite. While the “no makeup look” has been around for quite a few seasons, many celebrities are sticking to it for its ability to bring out the best in your features. Try using minimal coverage to make the skin appear more natural and embrace any imperfections you may have – and then apply a mauve pink lipstick to both your lips and cheeks. For an even more natural glow, apply a glossy liquid eyeshadow to the center of your lids to catch the light.

Glitter lips
While you may not want to wear glitter on your lips to the office, it can be tempting to try out for fun. Many super models have been sporting glitter lips on the runways – all thanks to British makeup artist, Pat McGrath. According to the Huffington Post, she adds glittery pigments to the lips to create multidimensional and glamorized glitzy looks that are sure to attract any pair of eyes.

Braid your hair tightly
According to Allure, tight braids are considered a trend this spring. If you use a styling cream or hair gel/pomade and run it through your hair before braiding, it will help keep your strands in place for the sleekest hairstyle. Whether you’re creating tiny braids placed organically throughout your hair, French braiding or sporting a bun-braid hybrid, all fall under the tight braid trend.

Highlight your face
Creating the perfect glowing face is so in style right now – move aside bronzing and contouring, it’s all about highlighting your face with the best golds and pinks this spring. Apply this to the tops of your cheek bones to transform into a glowing goddess.

Pink contouring
While classic contouring may not be the way to go this spring, another form of the trend is – pink contouring. Instead of adding a deep bronzer to the crease of your cheeks and temples, Glamour recommended applying blush to the tops of your cheeks and around your temples and hair line. While this may seem intimidating, it has the ability to make your skin look rosy and healthy. If you don’t want to go full on with the look, ease into it with a bright pink blush applied high up on your cheeks and a soft sweep across your eye lids.
