Getting those perfect beach waves

While we all want those loose, sun-kissed waves frequently found at the beach, some of us don’t have the time or geographic ability to visit salty waters. Thankfully, however, you’re in luck – if you’re looking to craft your own beachy curls, follow one of these steps when handling your hair.

Method 1: The iron approach

What you’ll need:

  • A curling iron, small or medium
  • Hairspray
  • Texturizing spray

How you’ll get it:
Start by applying a spritz of texturing spray to your tresses. Next, work with small sections of your hair – about 1-2 inches – and wrap them around the wand in one motion, not curling them up like you would normally. When your waves are ready, add another layer of texturizing or hairspray, and you’re good to go.

Method 2: The Jennifer Aniston

What you’ll need:

  • Salt water
  • Spray bottle
  • Sunscreen

How you’ll get it:
Jennifer Aniston has been a hair icon since the ’90s, when women flocked to the salons requesting the “Rachel.” However, her hair stylist Chris McMillan revealed to Beauty High the secret to the perfect beach hair: using beach materials. He suggested spraying your hair with salt water and allowing nature to take its course. To top of your tresses, he recommended coating your hands in sunscreen, then rubbing the tips in between them.

Method 3: The basic bun

What you’ll need:

  • A hair tie
  • Texturizing spray

How you’ll get it:
This option may be the easiest for the girl on-the-go, or one with limited beauty products. Take a shower the night before you want to show off your hair, but leave your tresses in a simple braid. When you wake up in the morning, your locks will have a bit more bounce – simply add some texturizing spray and throw on your BABY-G BGA131-4B4 watch and you’ll be ready to tackle the day.
